also imo JKR’s worldbuilding has MASSIVE holes in it? like… the rules for magic seem completely arbitrary, and what sorta jobs are there for wizards anyway? because theres a fair bit of derision of muggle jobs but i would think that wizards would need to have some sort of equivalent? SOMEONE needs to procure the materials for housing, and to build them, and to lay the enchantments, and where do they procure their food? wholesale from muggles? idk as an amateur worldbuilder this annoys me

In retrospect, yes to all of this. As a 12 year old kid I didn’t think about it. 

Also, as an American, I can confirm 1000000% that some muggleborn would enchant his truck to shoot eagle-shaped fireworks that screeched the national anthem out of the tailpipe for the 4th of July. 

This is simply objective fact, and anyone who doubts it has never met an American. 

We don’t do subtlety. 

The average American muggle response to a bud-lite drinking wizard riding his flying shotgun and drunkenly singing along to the eagle fireworks screaming the national anthem, incidentally, would be “Fuckin rad”
