to expand on the tags of the last post (abt duck “it’s a nickname” newton being a trans icon) here are some reasons:

• im trans and i like him
• nobody nicknamed him duck that is (until further notice) definitely a name he gave himself
• older trans ppl being successful and respected in their communities is the mood for 2018
• again, i’m trans and i like him
• the recurring theme of him walking away from the life chosen for him by someone else is a big trans mood, as is learning to engage with his past on his own terms
• i trust the mcelroys implicitly and absolutely with their handling of lgbt characters
• again i’m trans and i like him
