I love not wearing makeup!! I love coming in from the sun and being able to splash water on my face to cool down!! I love being able to rub my eyes if they’re itchy!! I love seeing my bare face so often that I’m used to it and it looks normal and good!! I love being able to hug people tight without worrying that I’m gonna get foundation on their shirt!! I love being able to just exist without having to be constantly aware of gunk on my face!!

I’ve gotten some comments on this to the effect of “yuck OP is anti-makeup” and “don’t be mean to people who do wear makeup!!” And first of all I wore makeup from the age of 13 until v recently, which coincidentally was the time in my life I felt the worst about myself and my appearance and makeup culture didn’t help that one bit so damn right I’m anti-makeup!! But more importantly it’s so telling that women can’t even make posts about why they’re happy not conforming to femininity, in no way commenting on people who do, without getting responses telling them to be quiet and prioritise the feelings of women who do conform. If my being happy makes you insecure, that’s literally not my problem!! Bye!!
