Jeff Bezos currently has $150 Billion dollars. Thats $150,000,000,000

The US has an estimated 1.56 million homeless people. Thats 1,560,000.

You know those little tiny homes that cost like $10,000? Jeff Bezos could buy a tiny home for every single homeless person in America for 15.6 Billion dollars. He would still have 134.4 BILLION dollars left.

He could single handedly end homelessness in America 9 times and still be a billionaire.

But the only thing he can think of to use his money for is “Trying to get into space, maybe?”

He could buy real homes for a dollar apiece through HUD and spent $10 k on average renovating them which would also help employment as well as giving people a real home.

Anyone gots stats on other good things Jeff’s cash could fund?

Well, on average, the tuition for 4 years of college to a public university is around $40,000.

So for 1 billion dollars you could send 25,000 students to university for 4 years.

Bezos has 150 billion. Lets let him keep 10 billion. For $140 billion, he could send 3,500,000 students to college for a bachelor’s.

Daily reminder that just because people have money it doesn’t obligate them to take over government functions

Daily reminder that this post isnt actually saying that Jeff Bezos is obligated to do any of this, but rather is meant to illustrate:

1. His extreme and obscene level of wealth in terms that are easier to understand

2. To highlight how much good that level of wealth could do if used for the collective good, say, through either charity work or taxed and appropriated for specific government programs

3. To show how Jeff Bezos is a greedy goblin man who doesnt know or doesnt care about the good he could do, but never will, because our broken economic policies have allowed him to exploit workers and the environment to such an extreme degree that he has more money than many governments do and he doesn’t do a damn bit of good with it, so fuck him. Eat the rich.

Daily reminder that Jeff Bezos and his ilk have spent a lot of money lobbying to dismantle government functions explicitly so that they could replace them and take more money from your pockets and mine in the process.

So… yeah, they kinda are obligated to fix the fucking mess. Or we will, and at this rate they won’t like how.
