This ended up being entirely about Rien whoops

What was the first element of your OC that you remember considering (name, appearance, backstory, etc.)?: So, I *think* I’ve answered for most of them before, so I’m gonna talk about Rien, because their name was the first thing I considered. And from there they kinda spun out until suddenly I had this one particular scene from their backstory written out in front of me. But a kid accidentally wanders into the feywild, and when a passing fae asks for their name, remembering the stories their gramma told, they say that their name is Rien. (and then, y’know, Fae Things happen)

How did you choose their name?: Well. Y’know. French. Fae. I’m a fuckin nerd? I dunno if you know this about me but I am

Is there any significance behind their eye color?: Oh! Yes! I am not sure what colour they are yet, because I am not sure what colour their patron’s are, but their patron is very intent on watching over them, for reasons, and that kinda manifests physically. (before they made their pact, their eyes were blue, but they hardly remember now)

What is something about your OC can make you laugh?: They’re just incredibly fond of knives. Just so very happy about knives. They really like knives. Like a lot. Which is funny to me and only me because of Reasons (that are also slightly uh sad) but man. This kid really likes knives, huh!

♣, ❈, ♒ for your pick of kids!!

Ask me things about my kids!
And today really is a Flicker day, but Rien does make an appearance

♣  to learn about my character’s wardrobe: Flicker was raised in a monastery(??) Full of people who do fibercrafts and so her wardrobe is pretty much completely handmade by either one of her family, or by her herself. Lots of knit things, as well as flowy-spinny skirts. But just lots of woolen knit things bc warm

♒ to learn about my character’s childhood:  So there’s a monastery out in the middle of the countryside, full of people of…… Dubious backgrounds, making a stunningly crime-free life for themselves, mainly by raising sheep and sheep-like creatures for their wool and making various fibercrafts. It’s a safe haven for those who want fresh starts. And one day, the sheepdog finds a little kid. The kid gets practically adopted by he monastery, and Flicker grows up with like twenty aunts and uncles and cousins that are all very dedicated to seeing her safe and happy. And Flicker grows up with a Lot of very obscure skills, like how to best card and spin wool, and how to cheat at all the best games, how to lie to fantasy cops when you get accused of cheating, and how to darn socks so that the patch barely shows.

❈ to learn about my character’s eating habits: for this one I’m do Rien, bc they’re Weird. They grew up with fae, and they’ve got a very… Cautious approach to food. But! So long as they know exactly where it all comes from, and how it was made, and who made it, they’re very eager to try new food, taste new things.

1, 3, 14 for your choice!

alright!

1.What was the first element of your OC that you remember considering (name, appearance, backstory, etc.)?  For Jo, it was basically ‘sea shanty bard’, and everything else kinda fell in after that. Flicker started out as a monologue I had to do for english, and the vague mental image of her. Rien… Backstory and name came kinda hand in hand, their gramma told them stories about foolish children who gave away their names, so when they stumbled into the wilds and a stranger asked for their name, well. Then there’s Amatri, who I think is the oldest of them? he started as a elven bard dance boy in a party full of even more bards (and one rogue) and was built to fit the party for the (unfortunately cut short) campaign about …bard band battles.

3. How did you choose their name?  Flicker: I?? dont remember? other than she’s a tempest cleric and I liked that name for her? It suits her. Jo: from my list of names I find cool. Rien: hahahaaa well. French. Amatri: there’s a list? from an rp site I stumbled across somehow, with prefixes and suffixes for an elven language I don’t remember what from, and basically his name means “beautiful dancer.” I think. I chose his name like, 5 years ago.

14. If you had to narrow it down to 2 things that you MUST keep in mind while working with your OC, what would those things be?  Jo was created like, two days ago and can be summed up with “sea shanties” and “not a pirate”. Rien is way more sneaky and backstabby than I am, and I have to keep in mind that they’re ruthless, more out of self preservation than anything. Flicker! is very! excited! all! the time!! and while she really wants to make friends she is… not very good at making them. and Amatri… uh. I haven’t played around with him in almost years, but he is just so bad at the talking thing, no matter how good he is at telling stories, he just perpetually digs the hole deeper.
