ok i admit, numbering your troops instead of naming them does well for the psychology part of it all, but fucking, saying ‘CT-7567′ aloud is e i g h t syllables as opposed to ‘rex’ which is One. and look, if youre giving snappy commands in a high stakes combat environment?? which one are you gonna say???? are you gonna say ‘cee-tee-seven-five-six-seven, go do the thing’ or ‘rex, go do the thing’. shit man yeah totally it serves the purpose of the whole ‘oh theyre just clones/cannon fodder’ but it does absolutely piss all else
