27. A taunt, with one eyebrow raised and a grin bubbling at your lips
“You know, Merit, I’d bet I can shoot better than you.” Noah announced from where he was leaned back on a wooden fence, watching Merit practice with his bow using targets set up in the Guild’s little outdoor space.
“Oho, really?” Merit asked in a disbelief, sounding more offended than he actually was.
“Sure.” Noah said, eyes sparkling with trouble. “I appreciate your bow work when we’re out running around, but I almost definitely have had more time to learn longbow, and a lot of other weapons.”
“Are you sure you haven’t gotten rusty after using those little twangy contraptions you call bows for so long, darling?” Merit tilted his head to the side, with a lopsided and bright and beautiful grin adding to the taunt.
It was Noah’s turn to look mock-offended, but the effect ruined slightly by a poorly hidden smile. “Little contrapt–okay, we’re doing this, I have a point to make now.”
“You’re borrowing an actual bow from Margrae, and we are betting now, dragonkin! You said you’d bet!”
